The two maps above illustrate an island, before and then after the construction of tourist facilities.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Sample Response:

The two maps show the changes to an island after the subsequent advent of tourism.

Overall, the near 250-meter island went from being desolate to a tourist resort. The major differences include the building of a pier, a reception area, a restaurant, and huts for guests.

Guests arrive by sailboat to a newly built pier. From this point, roads were constructed to take people from the pier to the reception area or the restaurant in the middle of the island, all of which were created from scratch as there was nothing on the island but sand and a few trees. Fifteen huts, and their interconnected footpaths, were also made, and they provide accommodation and infrastructure for the guests for their stay on the island. Nine of the huts are to the right, or east, of the restaurant and reception area whereas the other six are to the left, or west. Also, one end of the island has been left untouched, while the other end has a footpath to a natural beach, which is to be used for swimming and/ sunbathing by the guests. (176 words)

Note: the use of the passive form herein.
