Select Missing Word:

  • Remember the ‘beep’ will sound at the end of the last sentence spoken.
  • You will have only 2 or 3 of these tasks on the test.

For Select Missing Word, you will hear a recording about [a subject] that will last between 20 and 70 seconds. At the end of the recording, the last word or group of words has been replaced by a ‘beep’ sound.

You are asked to select the correct option to complete the recording from 3 to 5 answer options.

You should read the instructions and find the topic then skim the answer options. The recording will start in 7 seconds. After the recording, select the best answer.

Ask yourself, does the form of the word you have chosen make grammatical sense?

If you don’t know the answer, you should guess.

Your answer is either right or wrong, so you get 1 point for a correct answer or 0 for an incorrect answer.

Answer:

Do you ever wonder why we’re surrounded with things that help us do

everything faster and faster and faster? Communicate faster, but also work

faster, bank faster, travel faster, find a date faster, cook faster, clean faster, and

do all of it all at the same time? How do you feel about cramming even more

into every waking BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP.

Choices, for example, may look like this:

  1. hour
  2. month
  3. year
  4. faster
